Important Election Update from County Clerk
Board of Supervisors Meeting October 21,2025
As many of you know, there’s a statewide and local election coming up on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
At yesterday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, County Clerk Marcy DeMartile shared some important information about this election that I thought was worth passing along. Here’s a bulleted list but I’ve also included the video from the board meeting.
There’s been a problem with ballots mailed to residents in the Greenville/Taylorsville and Graeagle areas. The Clerk’s Office is working with the U.S. Postal Service to figure out what went wrong. The county’s voter roll has been verified and is correct but for some reason, an unusually high number of ballots were returned as “undeliverable”.
Remember: it’s the voter’s responsibility to update your address when you move or change where you receive mail. The Elections Department can’t reach you if you don’t let them know where you are.
If you haven’t received your ballot, call the Elections Office at (530) 283-6256.
The last day they can mail one to you is Tuesday, October 28.You can also stop by the Clerk’s Office at 520 Main Street in Quincy, where they’ll issue you a ballot and you can vote in person.
Ms. DeMartile also explained how ballots are collected from the drop box outside the courthouse. There are multiple layers of security to protect both staff and the integrity of your vote.
Every registered voter in Plumas County should have received a ballot that includes at least the statewide proposition. In addition, four special districts have items on the ballot so depending on where you live, you may see more contests that need your vote.
I found this update especially important and wanted to make sure others heard it too. Please share this information with anyone who might be affected.
No matter how you vote, your vote matters—and your voice deserves to be heard.
(Video of Ms. DeMartile’s (she’s standing just outside the screen to the right) presentation is included below.)
